A long Autograph Letter Signed, addressee’s name removed, discussing information supplied about Bath, the case of the corporation versus Mr. Pinch, a brewer, who had dug a well and diverted water from the public baths, Turner’s opinion, similar cases, good attendance likely at the Association meeting, sight of Whewell, Daubeny, Phillips, Murchison and Sedgwick. 2 pp. 9 x 7½ inches, remains of guard along left edge, in good condition. 7 Princes Place, Clifton, 19 August 1836. Edward Turner (1798-1837), chemist, occupied the chair of chemistry at University College, 1828-1837. His most important scientific work was that on the atomic weight of elements. Author of Elements of Chemistry (1827). From the album compiled by John Forbes Royle (1799-1858), so it is likely that the letter is addressed to him.
