Naval Order Signed, as Commander in Chief “for the time being” of His Majesty’s Ships and Vessels employed at Barbadoes, the Leeward Islands, &c., ordering a Survey on board HMS Andromeda. 1 page 12 x 8 inches, dust soiled, left edge worn and brittle. Given on board the Excellent in English Harbour, Antigua, 4 August 1802. Admiral Sir Robert Stopford (1768-1847) fought throughout the Napoleonic Wars, including the action at San Domingo (1806). He also saw action at Java (1811) and Acre (1840).
