Autograph Letter Signed ‘St. Vincent’, to “My dear Lord” [Admiral Lord Keith], accomplishing his wishes concerning two officers, and referring to the case of Francis Anthony, a Warrant Officer. 2 pp. 9 x 7 inches, folds, fine. Found among the papers of Admiral Lord Keith, who has docketed this letter ‘Lord St. Vincent’. Portsmouth, 8 September 1802. Admiral John Jervis, Earl St. Vincent (1735-1823). “… we found a great number borne on the Cheque at the different yards when we came into office and the list has been increas’d since by the Sale of useless and worn out Ships & Vessels, every step is taken to provide for them in turn, and Fs. Anthony will not be forgotten.”
