Philipps at 74 Dean Street, Soho, discussing the arrangements for a annual general meeting and the necessary shifting of furniture, and the erection of a platform. 2 pp. 9 x 7.5 inches, with the integral address leaf, in good condition. Russell Institution, 27 April 1838. Edward Wedlake Brayley (1773-1854), topographer and archaeologist, author of many topographical works, and the co-author and editor of the ‘Beauties of England and Wales’, which extended to 25 large volumes, published over a period of 20 years. In 1825 he was appointed librarian and secretary of the Russell Institution in Great Coram Street. “We must make what shift we can with the Instruments in the Lecture Room during our Annual Confabulation.”
