Autograph Letter Signed ‘T.R.Allinson’, to Joseph Collinson (of the Humanitarian League), ready to “send you my System of Hygienic Medicine to review in Daylight”, offering a complete set of his books. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition, a few light stains only. 4 Spanish Place, Manchester Square, London, 1 January 1894. Thomas Richard Allinson (1858 – 1918), English physician, dietetic reformer, businessman, journalist and vegetarianism activist. He was a proponent of wholemeal (whole grain) bread consumption. His name is still used today for a bread popular in Europe, Allinson bread. “When you review my books, be sure to put in some vinegar, too much sugar clys, & a bit of disparagement does away with that.”
