A series of six Autograph Letters Signed, to J.Grant Reid, one being autobiographical and mentioning Bryan and the Zig-zag sketches, the others sending drawings and notes of use to Reid in his book (At The Sign Of The Brush And Pen, 1898). 6 letters, 17 pp., in good condition. Bromley, Kent, 1898 and undated. William James Affleck Shepherd (1866–1946) was an English illustrator and cartoonist, known mainly for anthropomorphic animal drawings. He rarely used his first forename – most of his works are simply signed “J.A.S.”
