Autograph Letter Signed, to Mr Cooke about “our friend Ward”, believing his malady to be “more psychical than physical”. 3 pp. 7 x 4 inches, in good condition. 8 Torrington Square, 13 March 1878. Robert Semple (1841-1891) studied medicine at University College, London, and took the St. Andrew’s M.D. degree in 1848. He held appointments as physician to the Hospital for Diseases of the Throat and to the Eastern and Bloomsbury Dispensaries, and was the author of a Manual of Diseases of the Heart (1875) and papers on diphtheria and other subjects.
