Autograph Letter Signed, to the Editor of Once A Week, about the appearance of Richards’ poem Miserrima in that magazine. 3 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in clean condition, traces of mounting on verso, small thin at centre fold only. 17 Upper Eaton Street, 11 May 1866. Alfred Bate Richards (1820–1876), journalist, poet and author. He turned from law to literature and was the author of a number of popular dramas, volumes of poems, essays, etc. He was the first editor of the Daily Telegraph, and afterwards of the Morning Advertiser.
