Autograph Letter Signed, addressed ‘Dear Sir’, discussing the payment of cheques and other matters, explaining that “we are getting a bad reputation for mismanagement here, and people begin to get pressing on the supposition that the League is running dry”. 3 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition, some paper adhering to the blank verso of the second page. 448 Strand, 13 June 1843. Abraham Walter Paulton (1812-76), politician and journalist, lecturer for the Anti-Corn Law League, editor of its journal until 1846. In this letter there is a reference to George Wilson (1808-70), the chairman of the Anti-Corn Law League.
