Autograph Letter Signed, to Charles Manby, agreeing to recommend “your Warming apparatus”, and enquiring about “the probably cost for a moderate sized workhouse”. 1 page 7 x 4½ inches, minor stains only. Poor Law Commissioners, 27 January 1837. Charles Mott (d.1851), Poor Law Commissioner, was concerned with contracts with the local authorities for the maintenance of paupers.
