Autograph Letter Signed, enquiring where the 71st Regiment is stationed. 1 page 9 x 7 inches, mounted on an old album page (adhesive showing through), other blemishes. Hanold House, 10 November 1826. General John Manners Kerr (1769-1843), served in Barbados, the attack on Tobago (1793) and elsewhere in the West Indies. He commanded the islands of Grenada, Dominica, Barbados and St. Vincent until 1804. In 1810 he was appointed Colonel of the 5th Royal Veteran Battalion.
