Henry Robert Brand, 2nd Viscount Hampden (1841 – 1906), Governor of New South Wales from 1895 to 1899. Hampden Bridge in Kangaroo Valley, NSW is named after him. “… I hate snakes and other horrors. I really would rather walk 10 miles the other way from Mr. McGarvin Smith’s milking factory.”
