In French. 2 pp. 12 x 8 inches, in good condition, one corner filing hole, annotated on receipt. Paris, 10 February 1809. The scarce autograph of Napoleon’s Minister of Police, Joseph Fouché, duc d’Otrante (Duke of Otranto) (1759–1820), who became member of the Convention in 1792. An enthusiastic proponent of de-Christianization, and a consummate intriguer, he served as Minister of Police (1799–1815).
