Autograph Letter Signed ‘Alfred Crowquill’, to R.Bentley, the publisher, complaining that the Shoe Lane people had mauled his poetry “by not attending to my corrections” (here listed) and even leaving out a verse. 1 page 7 x 4 inches, light water stain only. Undated. “Flagellate them if you please …” Alfred Henry Forrester (1804-1872), artist, known as Alfred Crowquill, was a popular writer and illustrator of many works, including children’s books.
