Autograph Letter Signed as Bishop of Down, addressed ‘My Lord’, discussing an episcopal appointment and his own objections to it. 3 pp. 9 x 7 inches, paper toned at edges, otherwise good. Clare Street, 18 July 1786. The Rt Rev William Dickson (1745–1804) was Bishop of Down and Connor from 1784 to 1804. He was educated at Eton and Hertford College, Oxford and died in post on 19 September 1804.
