An original Admission Card, issued by the Decimal Association, for the Lecture by Professor De Morgan on the Approaching Simplification of the Coinage, at the Society of Arts. About 3 x 4 inches, printed on both sides, in good condition. 16 July [1856]. Augustus De Morgan (1806-71), writer on mathematics and logic, first Professor of Mathematics at University College London. In 1854, de Morgan was influential in setting up the “Decimal Association” to lobby for decimalisation of both measurement and coinage.
