Autograph Letter Signed, to Mr. Tidbury, discussing drawings by Clennell, referring to the print of Dover which Cooke engraved after Clennell’s drawing, and offering other drawings for sale. 1 page 9 x 7 inches, with the address leaf. Together with Cooke’s engraving of Dover Castle (published 1821). 27 Charlotte Street, Bloomsbury, 26 June 1832. William Bernard Cooke (1778-1855), English line engraver. His most important work was the “Picturesque Views on the Southern Coast of England”, chiefly from drawings by Turner, which he produced between 1814 and 1826, conjointly with his brother, George Cooke, and for which he executed no less than twenty-two plates, besides many vignettes.
