Autograph Letter Signed ‘J.G.Children’, to Mr Newman [the instrument maker] asking for “a reeipt for eight guineas on account of the Duke of Sussex, tomorrow morning at ten o’clock when I shal discharge His Royal Highness’ debt to you”. 1 page 7 x 4 inches, in god condition. B.M., 20 April 1836. John George Children (1777-1852), chemist, mineralogist and zoologist. His name is commemorated in the Australian snake, Children’s Python, and the mineral childrenite.
