Autograph Letter Signed, to ‘My dear Madam’, describing rare insects, “entomological operations”, asking about species she requires, etc. 4 pp. 6 x 4 inches, in good condition, traces of mounting. Dingwall, 18 September 1868. Francis Buchanan White (1842-1894), Scottish entomologist and botanist. His main area of interest was the Lepidoptera and the taxonomy of the Hemiptera. He was the author of numerous scientific papers, published in the Scottish Naturalist, Journal of Botany, and The Proceedings and Transactions of the Perthshire Society of Natural Science. White was a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society and the Linnean Society.
