Uncommon. Richard Bright (1789 – 1858), English physician and early pioneer in the research of kidney disease. He is particularly known for his description of Bright’s Disease. His elder son, the subject of this letter, was James Franck Bright (1832 – 1920), historian and Master of University College, Oxford.
