Autograph Letter Signed, to Mr. Redding, postponing the pleasure of having breakfast with him till Apperley’s return from Warwickshire, and recalling “the last pleasant evening” together. 1½ pages 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition. 3 Lower Belgrave Street, Monday morning, undated. “I hope your valuable head is none the worse this morning for the last pleasant evening we passed together. Our friend Wilson is a trump in his way, and I wish him well.” Charles James Apperley (1777-1843), sportsman and sporting writer, known as Nimrod. About 1821 he contributed articles to the Sporting Magazine under the pseudonym Nimrod, which helped to double the circulation of the magazine.
