A series of 6 Autograph and 13 Typed Letters and 10 Telegrams addressed to J.Dudley Morgan, 15 of the letters signed by Wyndham, 1 by his wife Mary Moore, and 3 by his secretary Percy Hutchinson, concerning Wyndham’s production of ‘The End of the Story’, written by Morgan under the title ‘The Diplomat’, the majority relating to the writing of the play, with suggestions as to its construction and content, encouraging extensive revision, agreeing to an advance of £50, describing the difference between comedy and face, discussing a copyright performance, and the choice between Miss Congdon and Miss Burnet for the part of Eleanor. 32 pp., in good condition. Wyndham’s Theatre, Charing Cross Road, 1899-1902. Sir Charles Wyndham (1837 – 1919), actor-manager. The author was persuaded to change the title to avoid having two plays with the same title running in America at the same time.
