Autograph Letter Signed ‘Erasmus Wilson’, to “My dear Stone”, making arrangements for his visit. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, fine. Westgate on Sea, 7 October 1874. Sir Erasmus Wilson (1809–1884), dermatologist and philanthropist. Wilson published his first article on skin diseases in 1839, a series of lectures on dermatology in 1840, and his ‘Practical and Theoretical Treatise … on Diseases of the Skin’ in 1842. Wilson was interested in Egyptian antiquities, and paid for the transport of Cleopatra’s needle to London in 1877–8.
