Military Commission, issued in the Queen’s name and signed by George Duke of Cambridge, appointing Theodore Cayley Hutchinson to be Deputy Inspector-General of Hospitals in the Army. 12 x 16 inches, very fine, Royal blue wafer seal affixed, vertical folds. 14 August 1866. George William Frederick Charles, Duke of Cambridge (1819-1904), the only son of George III’s seventh son, Adolphus Frederick. The Duke fought in the Crimea, and from 1856 to 1895 was commander-in-chief of the British Army.
