Autograph Envelope, addressed to General Grey, Norman Tower [Windsor Castle], signed lower left, “C. Prs of P” as Crown Princess of Prussia. 3½ x 8½ inches, part of the flap torn away, Windsor Castle crest remaining on verso, mounted on an album leaf, her crest (from other correspondence) mounted above. Annotated by Grey on verso, and dated 15 December 1868. Uncommon. Victoria, Princess Royal (1840 –1901) was the eldest child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. She was created Princess Royal of the United Kingdom in 1841. She became German Empress and Queen of Prussia by marriage to German Emperor Frederick III. After her husband’s death, she became widely known as Empress Frederick.
