Autograph Letter Signed, to Mr. Lee, explaining that he has to rehearse ‘Bachelors’, and providing the names of experienced stage managers. 2 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, fine. Lancaster Place, Strand, 24 January 1900. Hermann Vezin (1829-1910) was an American actor, born in Philadelphia, and educated at the University of Pennsylvania. He went to England at York and obtained and engagement there in 1850. His London début was made at the Princess’s Theatre in 1852. Most of his acting was performed in England. He acted in Dr. Davey (1866); Man o’ Airlie (1867); Son of the Soil (1872); As You Like It (1875); Daniel Druce, which ran for one hundred and six times at the Haymarket (1876); and Olivia (1878). He became known as a teacher of elocution and as a writer.
