Autograph Letter Signed, to Mr. Molteno, delivering a print of Lady Dashwood, “a scarce & valuable Print out of the general course of Trade”, which he should have returned earlier. A good one page example, 8 x 6 inches, integral address leaf, minor blemishes only. 49 New Bond Street [watermark 1801]. Uncommon. Peltro William Tomkins (1759-1840), engraver and draughtsman, one of the ablest pupils of Francesco Bartolozzi. In 1797 he produced a sumptuous edition of Thomson’s Seasons. His other major works were The British Gallery of Art, and The Gallery of the Marquess of Stafford.
