THOMSON, Arthur. 21493

Autograph Letter Signed, to Grant Curtis, suggesting it’s the other Arthur Thomson he is after, “he of Aberdeen”. A good one page example, 7 x 4 inches. Department of Human Anatomy, University Museum, Oxford, 15 January 1921. Arthur Thomson (1858-1935), British anatomist and anthropologist. He is best remembered for his formulation of Thomson’s Nose Rule, which states that ethnic groups originating in cold, arid climates tend to have longer and thinner noses, while those in warm, humid climates tend to have shorter and thicker noses.
