Autograph Letter Signed ‘A.Thierry’, to Mr. Moore, thanking him for looking after his affairs during his absence from Paris, and asking whether his son can carry a letter to Bowring. In French. 1¼ pages 7 x 4½ inches, generally in good condition. 26 October 1823. Augustin Thierry (1795 – 1856), French historian. He wrote Histoire de la Conquête de l’Angleterre par les Normands (History of the Conquest of England by the Normans), the appearance of which was greeted with great enthusiasm (1825).
