Benjamin Bussey Thatcher (1809-40), lawyer, philanthropist, advocate of African colonization as a solution to the slavery question, author of Indian Biography (1832). ‘Let no flattery, no short lived success, deceive you to remain longer in such a Pandemonium as London is.’ Thatcher’s works also included a Memoir of S.Osgood Wright, late Missionary to Liberia (1834).
