Autograph Letter Signed ‘George C.Stanfield’, to Daniel Maclise R.A., about the hanging of Stanfield’s pictures at the Royal Academy. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches in very good condition, second leaf tipped on to part of an old album page. 42 Belsize Square, 4 April, no year given. George Clarkson Stanfield (1828-1878), painter, the second son from the second marriage of his painter father Clarkson Frederick Stanfield (1793–1867). He is best known for his topographical views painted during his visits to the Rhine Valley, the Moselle, Switzerland, and the Italian lakes.
