Autograph Letter Signed ‘Tho. Somerville’, reporting the addition of a pension of a hundred per annum “added to my chaplaincy”. 5 x 7 inches, tipped on to an old album page, trimmed with the loss of a few words. [Annotated on verso, 1800] A fragment only, but an uncommon signature. Thomas Somerville (1740-1830), Scottish minister, antiquarian and amateur scientist. author of The History of Great Britain During the Reign of Queen Anne (1798) and My Own Life and Times (1814).
