Autograph Letter Signed ‘B.Smith’, to J.R.Harrison, asking for various plates on which he intends to work. 1 page 8 x 6½ inches, in good condition, remains of guard. 15 July 1814. “Have the goodness to send me Nos 4 of Pious family, Angels & Alls Well with No 3 of Two Gentmn.” Benjamin Smith (d.1833), engraver. He worked mainly in stipple-engraving, producing portraits, illustrations, and allegorical and biblical subjects after prominent artists of the day. He lived and worked in Somers Town, London, first at 21 Judd Place, then at 65 Ossulston Street.
