Autograph Letter Signed, regretting that ‘other engagements during the impending short recess will prevent me form on this occasion availing myself of the invitation’ from the Operatives Association of Salford’. 1 page 7 x 4.5 inches, integral blank, in good condition. London, 27 March 1839. Sir George Sinclair (1790-1868), author, friend of Byron (who described him as ‘the prodigy of our school-days’). In Parliament he advocated catholic emancipation and the emancipation of the West India slaves.
