Autograph Letter Signed, to the Dean of St. Paul’s, H.H.Milman, thanking him for his History of the Jews, and complimenting him on the excellent Preface. 3 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition. 62 Rutland Gate, 2 May, no year given. Henry Reeve (1823-1895), journalist, guided the foreign policy of the Times for fifteen years, became Editor of the Edinburgh Review (1855-95). “I am afraid on looking back to the Index of the E.R. that this book was not reviewed at all by me when it first came out – an omission which I should deplore, if it did not now devolve on me to have the pleasure of repairing it.”
