Richard Powell M.D. (1767-1834), physician to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, published works of chemistry, also the first clinical description of facial palsy, and many papers on medical matters. William Tooke (1777-1863), solicitor, Fellow of the Royal Society. President of the Society of Arts, was a founding member of the University of London.
