Autograph Letter Signed, to C. Le Neve Foster, saying that he has sent “a description of the calciner to Mr. Schneider”. A good one page example 8 x 5 inches. 8 Portland Square, Plymouth, 24 December 1877. Dr Robert Oxland (d.1899), chemist, metallurgist, devised a wet method for the extraction of copper from ores. He is known as the joint inventor, with John Hocking, of the “revolving calcining furnace” which bears their names.
