Autograph Letter Signed ‘William Oliver’, addressed “My dear Sir” [Henry Mogford, exhibition organiser], obliged if he could receive 600 francs on Oliver’s behalf when visiting Antwerp, thanking him for all his work. With a postscript about his wife’s drawings. 1 page 7 x 4 inches, mounted along one edge, in good condition. 22 Ovington Square [London], 4 October 1851. William Oliver (1804-1853), landscape artist, painted views in England, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the Tyrol, being especially fond of the Pyrenees. In 1842 he published a portfolio volume of Scenery of the Pyrenees lithographed by George Barnard, Thomas Shotter Boys, Carl Haghe, and others.
