Autograph Letter in the third person [”Miss Nightingale presents her compliments to Colonel North …”], pressing upon him the two folio volumes of the India Sanitary Report, hoping that this Blue Book will have his support in Parliament, in spite of opposition from the India Office. 4 pp. 7 x 4 inches, black borders, in fine clean condition. Now the Death rate given in the Report is under stated, because it does not take into account the Men invalided from the Army for disease, nor those who die on the passage home.”
