Autograph Letter Signed, to Mr, Larkins, thanking him for the wine and for his company, and describing an incident on stage that evening. 3 pp. 6 x 4 inches, fine. Embossed initials. Queens Hotel, Saturday morning, undated. Lilian Adelaide Neilson (1847 – 1880), born Elizabeth Ann Brown, English actress. By 1872 she was hugely popular and, after making a successful tour of British cities and giving a series of farewell performances in London, she went to America, where she made many tours during the 1870s. “I felt better last night than I have felt for some time. In the last act however I was in great pain – for an eyelash got into my eye, & I was nearly blinded by my tears in to the bargain.
