Two Letters Signed ‘Molé’, to Lieutenant General Charles Doyle, confirming and discussing his nomination for the Legion d’Honneur, recording the Royal approval. In French. 2 letters 12 x 8 inches, in good condition, together with an original envelope addressed to Doyle at the Hotel de la Cloche. Paris, 13 and 26 September, 1837. Comte Louis Mathieu Molé (1781-1855), French statesman, premier of France (1836-39). Lieutenant-General Sir Charles William Doyle, CB, GCH (1770 – died Paris,1842) served throughout the Napoleonic Wars, including Egypt and the Peninsula.
