A series of 11 Autograph Letters Signed, to Frederick William Hamstede, the secretary of ‘Our Club’, about Club meetings, “the promised honor of Thackeray’s presence among us”, mention of Shirley Brooks, thoughts of “old evenings … and vanished faces”, discussing a chronology of three dining clubs, including “the Museum”, praising Hamstede as “the Club’s guardian”, family news, etc. 11 letters, 20 pp. in good condition. 1851-1880. David Masson (1822-1907), Scottish scholar and literary critic, whose works included Memories of London in the Forties.
