Autograph Letter Signed ‘Hermann Masius’. 16 lines on 1 page, in German, untranslated, lower left corner damaged, upper edge trimmed, some blemishes. Leipzig, 8 October 1872. Hermann Masius (1818 –1893), German educator. Among his numerous publications was a work on “nature studies” called Naturstudien. It was published over several editions, and acclaimed for its blending of natural and cultural history from an aesthetic standpoint. Another noted work of his was Die gesamten Naturwissenschaften (Complete Natural Sciences), of which he collaborated with other academic professionals.
