Autograph Note Signed, to Mr. Christie, the auctioneer, authorising Mr. Manson to bid on his behalf at the sale of the articles of Mr. S.Lyson on 4th May: “should any of these be knocked down to him they will be bought in my name. Countersigned by Manson accepting the commission. 5 x 7 inches, minor defects, in clean condition, neatly mounted. 2 May 1820. An interesting example of an auction commission at Christie’s, signed by W.Manson. Daniel Lysons (1762–1834), notable antiquary and topographer, who published the four-volume The Environs of London (published 1792 to 1796).
