Autograph Letter Signed ‘Alicia Little’, to Mr. Gardner [?Jardine], about the provision of Japanese fireworks to celebrate the Jubilee. 2 pp. 5½ x 3½ inches, in good condition. Undated [Hankow, China Jubilee year 1897]. Alicia Little or Mrs Archibald Little (1845 – 1926), writer and a British campaigner for women’s rights and later against foot binding in China. “My husband forgot to mention to you today, that Dr. Robert Little wrote to him from Shanghai: ‘If Hankow wants my Japanese fireworks for the Jubilee, ask them to telegraph to me, as I could spare them some.’ I do not know if you do, but as my husband is very busy with his mail send this on.
