Autograph Letter Signed, to Benjamin Webster, the actor manager, offering him eight £40 shares in The Field, which would “give you a sixth share of the paper”, providing the names of the other holders. 3 pp. 7 x 4 inches, fine. The Field, Covent Garden, undated [watermark 1851]. Mark Lemon (1809-70), author and journalist, helped to establish Punch, becoming first joint editor.
