Autograph Letter Signed, to ‘My dear Nelthropp’, sending a precious stone, “the enclosed piece of Labrador”, for his collection, discussing in detail the purchase and sale of plate, antiquities and “a Pochler, set in an elegant gold seal of the period..” 4 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition. Trinity College Cambridge, 11 December 1874. “Westropp sent me his book – The cuts of Crystals are good, white in background – the gems ..resemble cuts from his Archaeology. He makes himself ridiculous by quoting Maskelyne & myself at every line.” Charles William King (1818-1888), author of works on engraved gems.
