Clarendon, Thursday Morning, undated. Richard Burleigh Kimball (1816-1892), American author and lawyer. He was engaged in the law practice from 1840 to 1860 and in the early 1860s he turned his career to writing the novels. Possessing much of the pioneer instinct of his ancestors he became interested in the Southwest and early in the fifties founded the town of Kimball, Texas. He also built part of the first railroad in that state.
