Autograph Letter Signed, to [Sir Henry] Thompson, enquiring, about the bearer of this note, “Has this gentleman any stone in his bladder?” 1 page 7 x 4 inches, mounted at corners on part of an old album page. 63 Brook Street, 5 July 1881. Sir William Jenner, 1st Baronet (1815-1898), doctor, discovered the distinction between typhus and typhoid. in 1862 Jenner was appointed Physician in Ordinary, to Queen Victoria, and in 1863 Physician in Ordinary to the Prince of Wales; he attended both the Prince Consort and the Prince of Wales in their attacks of typhoid fever.
