Joseph Hume (1777-1855), radical politician and political philosopher. “I had the pleasure to receive your note yesterday, &, on presenting your petition last night, I stated the fact of 600 being then fed from the Public Kitchen as an argument for promoting a change in the laws respecting corn.”
